The political conflict in Kenya around the results of the recent elections continues. International Herald Tribune is reporting that members of the Kikuyu tribe are committing genital mutilations by machete on both men and women from the Luo. Luo are mostly Christian and do not traditionally circumcise males and females, unlike the Kikuyu.

Raila Odinga's failed bid in the recent presidential elections precipitated violent demonstrations. The German educated Orange Democratic Party candidate, Odinga, is a self-described "non-tribalist". He recently told reporters that he's the nephew of Barack Obama's Kenyan father. Mr. Obama, now deceased, was also from the Luo tribe.
