Kerrying Water for Obama @ 01:17 pm

Mr. Obama's new fact check website features an odd and interesting retraction by a Muslim group whose website they also link to called The Muslim Observer.* (They were supposedly responsible for one of the Obama and Islam viral emails). Odd because although the group retracts it they also say that they contacted the Obama campaign repeatedly for clarification, but got no response:
We wish to print some statement on the issue from the Obama campaign. Therefore, we have made approximately 10 calls to different offices of the Obama campaign since Monday morning; we have left our contact information on every voice mail; we spoke at length with one volunteer for the campaign (who is not authorized to speak on behalf of the campaign) who explained that he thought the campaign staff might consider it unwise to respond on such an issue. We left two voice messages with Michael Ortiz, Senator Obama’s federal press secretary, and left one message with his campaign press office. But as of this writing, we have heard nothing from the campaign. This offering by the Obama fact check site raises more questions than it answers. We get the impression that someone may want Muslims to have the impression that Barack Obama is covertly a Muslim, while at the same time disabusing non-Muslims of the notion. Quite the head spinner.
On the subject of "is he is or is he ain't a Muslim", we posted a while back about the issue and linked to a Daniel Pipes essay. Now Mr. Pipes has been accused of spreading falsehoods about Obama when he addressed the evidence of Mr. Obama's Islamic experience in Indonesia. (Oddly enough by the "progressive" Clinton-linked Media Matters group). Mr. Pipes responded to those charges in a second article at Front Page mag earlier this month.
Video: On a lighter note, here's fake-uptight-Republican Stephen Colbert on John Kerry's support for Sen. Obama.
