Garrison Keillor is advising his cohorts on the left to stop bashing No Child Left Behind. The bi-partisan program intended to bolster struggling students and schools shouldn't be dissed because they are "Republican", or associated with Bush, according to the author and host of The Prairie Home Companion. He argues that good teaching programs like phonics shouldn't be rejected because they are identified with the GOP. This would appear to be a home truth, but apparently for Garrison Keillor's social and political echelon, expression of such an idea is strengt verboten.
