She used to channel her First Lady rôle model, Eleanor Roosevelt in a cardigan and pearls. Through the years, she's shown gone back again and again to the mandarin-collared sartorial elegance of Madame Mao and her Mister. Occasionally Mrs. Clinton goes into the Don't Cry For Me Argentina pose of Evita Peron.

When Segolene Royal appeared to be a shoo-in in last year's French presidential election Mrs. Clinton started gesticulating on the stump like the firm, but feminine Gallic candidate. But when we saw Mrs. Clinton break out the shocking royal blue, we knew she was emulating someone, but we were at a loss to make the connection.
