James M. McHaney has entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of possession of child pornography in his Washington DC pedophila sting case .

McHaney, 28, was an aide of Senator Maria Cantwell (D, WA) when he was arrested for soliciting sex with a 13 year old boy in an FBI sting in November of last year. Mr. McHaney was arrested at a Washingon DC hotel when he attempted to meet a boy who did not actually exist after soliciting online to perform a specific sexual activity on a young boy. He was immediately fired by Senator Cantwell following his arrest.

Police are in possession of computers and a flash drive belonging to McHaney that contain a thousand images classified as child pornography.
