The Obama campaign has thrown Samantha Power under the bus. Ms. Power, a foreign policy wonk for Barack Obama, had characterized Hillary Clinton as "a monster" during a book promotion interview in the UK. Her resignation comes almost before the dust has settled. More from the AP.

AP Video: 8 students who were murdered during yesterday's mass killing at a Jerusalem Yeshiva were buried today. All but one of the Yeshiva students were aged 15 to 18. They were killed by a Hamas gunman while studying in the library.

Correction: Although the gunman was initially shot when he exited the library by a Yeshiva student, as we stated yesterday, the fatal shot was taken by an off-duty IDF soldier. The IDF man was in the area and responded to the location when he heard gunfire.

The ashes of the latest Northwest arsons thought to be the work of Earth Liberation Front had barely cooled when the guilty verdict for accused arsonist Brianna Waters came down yesterday in Tacoma, Washington. Waters' attorney may seek an appeal based on the possibility that the arsons of certified "green homes" in Woodinville may have prejudiced the jury's verdict. Bringing the war home, a hooded bicyclist bombed the Times Square Armed Forces recruiting station this morning. There has been no statement regarding this thus far, and perhaps there will not be, although in this case, perhaps the medium is the message. Unlike the bombs dropped by the US armed forces on various brown people around the world, no one was hurt.

We agree on with Indymedia on one point: the medium is the message. Indymedia sites are a treasure trove of activist left thinking and information on radical activists and their agendas and calls-to-action that can help inform our understanding.
