Oops! or Oh, how the mighty are fallen: News out today that New York Governor Eliot Spitzer patronized a big bucks call-girl operation as recently as 12 February. Phone numbers used by the prostitution business were being monitored and Gov. Spitzer's calls to set up a session in D.C. were recorded. Gov. Spitzer revealed some details of the scandal, which he called "a private matter", during a public press conference. He also resigned.* (Or did he)? Gov. Spitzer's press conference statement here.
If Gov. Spitzer tenders his resignation, Lt. Gov. David Paterson will become Governor.
