The trial of Naveed Haq, the perpetrator of the Seattle Jewish Federation assault, is underway. Haq initially pled guilty, but later changed his plea. Yesterday the prosecution played 911 calls made as Haq's assault was underway. On the tapes he is heard to say that his intent is to "kill Jews". He says he is angry about "your foreign policy".

Haq gained entry into the locked Jewish Federation by forcing a young girl at gunpoint to buzz them into the building. Shouting "I'm a Muslim American; I'm angry at Israel", he methodically went through the offices shooting people. The young girl managed to lock herself in a bathroom and survived uninjured, but 5 women, including a pregnant woman, were shot by Haq. All recovered from their wounds. In addition to the other 5, Haq also shot and killed Pamela Waechter as she attempted to flee.

An 8 year old girl is happy that she can now go back to school. The Yemeni courts have granted the girl's request for a divorce from her 28 year old husband. And yes, she was forced by her father to marry the man, and yes the marriage was consummated, but no, says her ex, he didn't beat her.
